Αγαπημένα μου παιδιά
Μικροξενιτιμένα
Και ‘γω η φτωχεια σαν γεννησα
Σας χαιρονται τα ξένα

Ο ένας στην Αμερική
Και ο αλλος πάρα πέρα
Και ‘γω άδικος καρτερώ
Να δω μιαν άσπρη μέρα

Ξενιτιμένα μου παιδιά
Ξανά γυρίστε πίσω
Πρωτού σαν έρημο δεντρή
Στη μοναξιά να σβήσω.

My beloved children
who were sent to live in xenitia from a young age
I was poor when I had you
And lost you to distant, foreign lands.

One child in America
Another even farther away
And I wait unfairly
To see a decent day.

My children living in xenitia 
Come back again
Before I die alone
Like a lone tree.
